1st Offical Day on the Mission

We had a very "entertaining" evening trying to get Mom and Dad packed. Dad did his own, but Mom demanded a little more help since the phone didn't stop ringing until they went to bed!
This is what Mom's suitcase looked like before I stepped in! When we removed all the ziplock bags and the improvised makeup case, everything fit! WHEW!

Yep....still on the phone! As I understand she even got a wake up call this morning from a child to say Goodbye....at 7:30 am....
Dad loading the last of it!
Mom and Dad left this morning at about 9:45 from the house. They decided to drive themselves to the MTC since we haven't sold the van yet. (if you look close you can see the bags that had to be dropped off at D.I. on the way!)
I talked to Mom tonight for a little bit after their first day at the MTC, they were actually laying in bed at 10:00, I think that's the earliest they've gone to bed in years! Dad is serving as the District Leader over their group of missionaries. They have a couple that is also going to New Zealand to serve in the Visitor's Center at the Temple. They also have a couple that worked with them at the library who are going to Nauvoo. Oddly enough they ran into one of my old roommates down there who was saying good-bye to her Grandma who is now in Mom's and Dad's District! It's a small world!

Mom and Dad fly out on the 3rd for New Zealand.

They both did a wonderful job on their talks. They will be missed! I am excited for more updates on how they are doing! Keep this up!
