Almost time to leave the MTC
We're excited to get to have one last family dinner in Utah before Mom and Dad fly out on Monday and to celebrate Mom's birthday a little early since she'll actually lose her birthday while she's flying! (They'll leave Monday night from SLC, but have a lay over in LA, and then fly on to Auckland, which is one day ahead of us, so they won't get to have a Tuesday!) Suzanne and Daniel are flying in this weekend and will get to spend some time with them before they leave.
For the time being, Mom still has her cell phone in service. I don't think that it gets shut off until after they leave, but she probably won't be able to accept calls on it after they leave the states due to roaming charges, but they will have access to their e-mail if you want to drop them a line!

1st Offical Day on the Mission
Yep....still on the phone! As I understand she even got a wake up call this morning from a child to say Goodbye....at 7:30 am....
Dad loading the last of it!
Mom and Dad left this morning at about 9:45 from the house. They decided to drive themselves to the MTC since we haven't sold the van yet. (if you look close you can see the bags that had to be dropped off at D.I. on the way!)
I talked to Mom tonight for a little bit after their first day at the MTC, they were actually laying in bed at 10:00, I think that's the earliest they've gone to bed in years! Dad is serving as the District Leader over their group of missionaries. They have a couple that is also going to New Zealand to serve in the Visitor's Center at the Temple. They also have a couple that worked with them at the library who are going to Nauvoo. Oddly enough they ran into one of my old roommates down there who was saying good-bye to her Grandma who is now in Mom's and Dad's District! It's a small world!
Mom and Dad fly out on the 3rd for New Zealand.
